Some people take pride in using a decade-old phone, and honestly, it’s a pretty cool achievement. But it’s probably time for an upgrade. Not only do old phones present security risks, but Google plans to drop sign-in support for all devices running Android version 2.3.7 (or earlier) on September 27th.
Without Google sign-in support, you will lose access to some of Google’s best services. You will also lose the ability to factory reset your device, among other issues. Here’s a quick list of everything that will go wrong:
App Support: You’ll lose the ability to sign in to YouTube, Maps, Gmail, or any other Google app. (You can still sign in to these services from a mobile browser.)
Account Support: If you remove your Google account from your device, then you won’t be able to sign back in. You will also lose the ability to create new Google accounts from your device.
Factory Reset Support: Good luck factory resetting your device—this hurdle is particularly frustrating, as it presents security risks when you try to get rid of your phone.
Keep in mind that this change only affects devices running Android version 2.3.7 or earlier (IE: phones released 8 to 11 years ago). You can check your Android version from your device settings. Google suggests updating to Android version 3.0 if possible on your device, although you should consider buying a new phone to avoid the security risks of outdated software.

IQOO 8 WILL ARRIVE WITH TOP-END DISPLAY AND ULTRA-FAST CHARGING
On August 4, the premiere of the flagships iQOO 8 and iQOO 8 Pro is scheduled, which may become the first smartphones with a system based on the Snapdragon 888+ chip. In addition to the hardware platform, rumors have arrived regarding the iQOO 8 battery capacity, as well as what display to expect from it.
In particular, it is reported that the flagship will have a top screen. They promise a 10-bit matrix with LTPO technology, and it will adapt the refresh rate to the content that is displayed on the display. The variable refresh rate is useful in order to increase the operating time of the device and reduce the battery power.
QuadHD + resolution will be offered, and the refresh rate will be 120 Hz. There is no doubt that the sensor’s response rate will also be increased. The company itself only preferred to announce that the iQOO 8 screen will display realistic colors.
We also received a message that the iQOO 8 battery capacity will be 4500 mAh; and will also offer proprietary 120W fast charging technology. Although earlier rumors appeared on the network that the company will go for a record and offer 160W charging. This would allow the iQOO 8 to become the first commercial device on the market with such a charger.
We also know that the smartphone will receive 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage; as well as the Android 11 operating system and technology for virtual expansion of RAM
XIAOMI MI PAD 5 WILL BE AN AFFORDABLE IPAD FOR THOSE WHO PREFER ANDROID
It’s no secret that Xiaomi is returning to the tablet market and is preparing to present the Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 in three versions at once. The two bigger ones will receive a Snapdragon 870 chipset and the smaller one – Snapdragon 860. Only the last of the variants will enter the global market, but the better options will not leave China. New details have arrived about what the tablets will be like.
It is expected that the variants with Snapdragon 870 will be called Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 and Mi Pad 5 Pro, and the version with Snapdragon 860 – Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 Lite. In addition to a slightly more powerful chip, the bigger models will feature 67-watt charging, and the light version will be content with 30-watt charging.
The base tablet of the series will be awarded a battery with a capacity of 8750 mAh, a 10.9-inch IPS-panel with a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a resolution of 2K (2560×1600 pixels). Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 will have a 12 megapixel camera, while the Pro version will have a 48 megapixel sensor.

Xiaomi MIUI+ now supports window resizing & custom shortcut keys
Xiaomi introduced MIUI+ (previously known as Xiaomi Device Control) last year. It is a tool similar to HUAWEI Multi-Screen Collaboration, Samsung DeX, and Microsoft Your Phone. Since its release, the company has been improving the user experience with new features, design changes, and fixes. According to an official announcement, the service adds two new useful features.
As per the official MIUI Weibo account, the latest beta version of MIUI+ adds two new features. These are support for window resizing and custom shortcut keys.
According to the official website, MIUI+ v2.3.1.1014 is the newest beta release. It is only compatible with a handful of Xiaomi group smartphones and laptops.
Users with the supported devices can now not only resize the windows of the apps but also use custom shortcut keys. Some of the shortcuts include Alt + B for back, Alt + H for Home, and Alt + R to switch to the most recent task.
Unfortunately, MIUI+ is yet to make its debut in the global markets. Hence, it should be only working on compatible smartphones running MIUI China ROM.
We expect the tool to hit the international markets once it exits the beta phase. Above all, Xiaomi will have to release its laptops in more regions for the wider availability of MIUI+.
Similar services from other companies are quite popular among multi-taskers around the world. Hence, Xiaomi will most likely bring this to more markets.
